Rapala BXB-6 Balsa Crankbaits

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried the rapala balsa crank baits. I picked up a few from my local fishing supplier and haven't seen them before. $10 per lure but they seem like quality pieces. Here is a picture.

That is one of my choices for river smallmouth.  Great performance, which is expected of Rapala.

The Brat is a great bait. It runs well and will not blow out. I've caught some good fish on it.

They catch fish. Seem to run more in the 4 foot range than 6. I’ve had good results with the Brat in lakes where lot of folks throw squarebills. Brat has a different profile and action than your SK 1.5s and other popular squarebills

Love them,  always have one tied on

Great bait, I'm sort of new to them this season. I'm a Rapala freak so I'm always somewhat ready to jump on board with their stuff. Been river and lake fishing with them catching fish with them. I agree with a post above that I do not believe I get 6 feet with them. I have not tried or bought the shallower version and probably won't. Their color pattern selection is good. Have only used carbon and shiner colors.
