Eagle/Lowrance GPS map

Featured Replies

Greetings.

I have recently purchased an Eagle depthfinder/gps unit. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can download maps to put on an SD card for it, or if you have to pay the 100 bucks. Im only asking because I figure a lot of money gets factored into the chip itself and packaging. So,if I could download it, and copy it to one of the many extra SD cards I have, I could save some cash. If not, could I manually copy from one chip to another? Thanks in advance for any advice. :)

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure.  The Lowrance site offers free map downloads that will work in the Lowrance units, but I don't know if they will work in the Eagle units.  The best I can suggest is the you download a map to your SD card, plug it into the Eagle unit, and find it if it will upload.

Don't try to copy the chips.  You will ruin the chip.   The best way is to go head and spend the $$ for a good up to date chip from Navonics that will work in your Eagle.

I downloaded some of the free maps on the Lowrance website for use in my H2O. I downloaded the chosen lakes to my computer in a file folder and then copied all those files to blank SD card and installed in the H2O- works fine. The lake selection is very limited for my state. Lowrance map software works in Lowrance and Eagle units.
