Can a broken rod be repaired?

Featured Replies

I broke about 6 inches of my Lew's Carbon Fire spinning rod.  Can this kind of thing be repaired with any utility?  I've already replaced it and it's not a hugely expensive rod, but I thought I'd ask.

Yes, that kind of a break can be fixed so that you probably will only be able to tell it was broken by looking at it.  Some argue that the action will be destroyed, but that is simply not true if the repair is done correctly.  I have a friend who repaired one, and he had never done rodbuilding or repair before.  A skilled rodbuilder can do it and have it look pretty good.
