Which conquest for 1/2 jigs In heavy cover.  I fish the California delta if that helps let you know the cover i fish 

I have a 842,843 and 903 and throw a 1/2 ounce jig +trailer on my 843.

The 903 also works, but prefer it for open water, but I suspect I am in the minority.

I have 7 conquest rods. I suggest 4 power for 1/2 oz jig.  3 power tip feels too light. May try the MB FMJ instead..

So would the 904c have the power to fish in and around heavy cover or should i step up to 905c 

The 904C should be plenty powerful enough for a 1/2 jig in heavy cover in my opinion. 

Big bass in heavy tulies (reeds) with weed beds has little to do with the 1/2 jig weight and everything to do with controlling the bass after you hook it. 

I wouldn't use anything less then a 5 power rod rated 3/8-1 1/2 oz lures capable of using 50 lb braid.

I don't see a Conquest rod between 904 & 905 that meets your needs.

I agree with you about it not having much to do with the weight of the jig i was mainly seeing if that conquest had the power to fish around the cover. My intentions is not to punch with the rod as i already have a rod for that but indeed fish around and in the tulies and grass. So would the 905c be the better choice 

I haven't held the 905 NRX or Conquest and both have the same XHeavy 3/4-3 oz lure rating indicating a 906 power rod to me. I can't recommend the 905 without touch and feel, it may be too rigid to cast accurately, if the tip is flexible enough to cast the 1/2 oz jig, the added power comes in handy with big bass around heavy cover.

I use a 90's Lamiglas Dee Thomas flipping rod w/60 lb braid at the delta around tulies and my custom H jig rod 3/8-1 1/2 oz rating w/25 lb Armillo around weed beds and rip rap pockets. Delta bass tend to stay in or very close to cover and you must turn their heads to control them.

I may Go with a kistler z bone 7’6 heavy rated 1/2oz-2oz heavy powered mod fast and also get the 904c that way both rods should cover all my delta worm and jig work
