? for inflatable raft owners

Recommended Posts

Do you transport your raft inflated, or do you inflate it at the lake? If at the lake, what do you use? A pump that works off the car battery? I'm thinking about buying a small raft, but I know nothing about them. Is there any website where I can learn more about rafts? Thanks.

Most raft, pontoon/kick boat, and float tube owners leave their respective craft partially inflated and fill them up/top them off when they get to the lake with either a battery operated pump or a 2-way high volume pump like I use on the enclosed picture. Always remember to check the air pressure continually and allow for expansion when it gets hot outside and contraction when the water is cold to avoid having bladders burst and seams ripped open. IMO.
