just got a brand new baitcaster from okuma IV and the tension knob wont even tighten a single bit.   when the knob is tighten all the way my reel whitch takes the line is still moving sideways    also i have the brakes to 10    there is no friction whatsoever to stop it from spinning      please help

Although new, remove the tension cap and you should have a fiber spacer on the inside.  If it is not there, that is the problem.  They are available from any reel repair service, so contact DVT, a board sponsor and he will fix you up. BTW, there should be another one under the bearing in the removeable reel cover

Return it for a new one. No need to buy parts for a new reel that's not working right.
