Weiss Lake, where to stay?

Featured Replies

I’ve never been to Weiss but I would like to go before the water gets too cool. I’m perfectly comfortable camping in a tent somewhere as long as I can pull my boat up onto the shore by my campsite. If that’s not possible then a decent waterfront motel where I can also rent a slip. I really want to avoid having to launch and load every day.

It doesn’t need to be fancy, just decent. It’s hard to tell about a lot of places from their poor (or nonexistent) websites so I’m hopeful someone has some firsthand knowledge to share.

I used to go every year but it’s been 20 years since I‘ve been there.  A lot can change in 20 years.  I camped a few time at the Bay Springs Campground.  It had a ramp and you could pull your boat up to the shore by your campsite.

It’s a fun lake to fish.

Little River. Used to be JR's long ago. Good rooms, marina with slips. Use Navionics card, since this is not a navigation lake, channel is marked, you just have to look for the markers. Our club uses Little River. Fun lake to fish.
