where to put pump in pump on livewell

I am putting a livewell on my boat. I have the basic design. However, I was simply wondering whether I should put thru hull fitting and pump in the back of the boat and pump up to my livewell. (the livewell is in the middle of my 16 ft boat) or if I should put the hole in the hull next to my livewell. I am not sure if the type of boat matters but its a 16 ft mod v lowe with a 50 hp mercury. ??? what would you do?  :-? :-?
