Okuma Stratus VI vs Lews American Hero vs Silver Max Spinning Reels

Featured Replies

Looking to pick up an inexpensive spinning reel for freshwater bass fishing.  7' Med Power rod

Which should I got with?  Please stick to these options as for various reasons I'm limited to these.

Lews American Hero 200 $24

Okuma Stratus VI  30      $32

Abu Garcia Silver Max 20  $32

Pflueger Trion - I have one and it's actually been a reliable workhorse. Right now, direct from Pflueger, you can get the 30 or 35 size for $20

I second the Trion.

Without knowing why...it's hard to understand

Especially when Abu and Pflueger are both owned by Pure Fishing - so at the end, they're the same company.

Lol.   I'm not sure what there is to understand.  I have three option.  Pick between them.

If you must know, I have a gift certificate from Dick's and these are the reel's they have in stock that fall underneath it.  And I'm not interested in waiting for a delivery to expand my options.

In the end, I went with the Lew's solely because it was the only high speed option and I don't have a high speed reel.

If that had been made clear from the beginning, then I would have suggested the Lews myself. Not being clear on the reason those were the only options led to my suggesting a different reel.
