but i was wondering if there is anyway to mount a transom mount trolling motor on the bow or on the side?

thanks.

sure, mount on bow lip, unscrew the head and spin it 180 degrees.  Screw it together again.

would a 30lb be good enough to push it around?

yes a 30lb is good and would suit your application just fine.  But....bigger is always better.

ok thanks a lot.

I do think a thirty should be fine. Just watch out if you have it on the highest setting, it'll seriously push you around!  ;DWe have a 42 lb thrust and we can't even keep it on 5. It will throw you off the boat.

here is something else to consider, look on eBay for a gently used bow mount trolling motor with about 50lbs thrust.  You won't be dissapointed!!

What are the dimensions on your new boat?

a little over 12ft long. and its about 48in. wide.
