Jig Trailers

Featured Replies

What is everybody using for jig trailers? How do you pick what trailer you'll use? I have Power Craws but no luck so far.

Spur of the moment kinda thing as what i'll throw on it.

Like if i'm going after smallmouths sabertail bug has been the top producer for me this year or it'll be a yum wooly bug.If i'm after anything the standard skirted jig with a 2'' trailer.

Gene Larew Salty Hawg Craw in 4, 5, & 6'; I cut the tail off according to the jig weight. Some times if I'm throwing a ¼ oz jig I'll use a Zoom Swimming Chunk in sapphire blue.

I use a variety of trailers, such as the zoom super chunk and super chunk jr., yum wooly bug, and sabertail.  It is also a spur of the moment call for me as they all accomplish a similar task in bulking up your jig.

Gambler also makes the Ugly Otter which I will be giving a try next time out.

Mix and match them until you find a winning combo, also, some jigs are tough to find a matching trailer color for, and for this I often conserve my old torn up worms and tear off the end and make it into a custom trailer, a good way to conserve and a money saver.

Right now I like the Zoom Super Chunk and the Yum Chunk.
