Attaching Liners To Utility Box Lids

I’ve seen and liked several ideas online where rubber shelf liners have been used. But I’m concerned about using any glue that would leave an adhesive smell in the boxes. Also, is one layer of material enough to keep stuff from migrating between compartments?

    I use them on Plano 3600 and 3700 size boxes and use just plain ol super glue with no smell issues.
