Yes the disk in the cap can dimple. I’ve had that happen, just flip it over. Since then I’ve not tightened it down excessively and will always back it off after each outing.

This makes no sense! If set at factory and should not be tightened, then why have a spool tension knob at all.

HaHaHa. Yeah they’re the same size. The photographer is not the best. But if they weren’t, they would have gone back for sure.

Up here too Tom. Used to welcome late Sept. at the deer club. Late Sept. meant the chance for some weather kicking the big boys into chasing the girls. Lately summer has extended into Oct. Not deer hunting much anymore, but would like to look forward to cooler fishing weather.

I haven’t pitched or made short casts with mine, but this shortcoming in the reel makes sense. Not enough speed for the chip to do it’s thing.

I have the Curado DC, I took a big gulp when I bought it because of the price! It’s on my crankbait rod. Against the advice in the instructions I would tighten down the cast control a bit. It worked out well. Last time out,I thought what the hell, and set the cast control per the instructions and was pleasantly surprised. I don’t think I would buy another Curado DC, but would consider the SLX DC if the performance is comparable.

Here ya go. The ones on the right are acceptable. The rest are not, maybe one could be considered a variation but not a good one. Just bought one pack so I won’t be sending them back. If the good ones work out well, I probably would order more but they will go back if the same thing occurs.
