Rest in Peace @ WRB-2.0

Featured Replies

I am deeply saddened to report that our friend and fellow angler Tom has passed away. His wife reached out to me yesterday to let me know that he injured himself Tuesday morning and succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday.

To say that I am shocked and heartbroken is a massive understatement. I had the distinct pleasure of fishing with Tom several times over the past few years since I had gotten to know him as a result of our participation here on the Bass Resource forum. I was always looking for opportunities to get out on the water with and truly enjoyed his company as both angler and friend.

Rest in peace Tom - you truly were one of the all time greats - I learned volumes from you as I’m sure generations to come will as well.  Thanks for your kindness and generosity and I hope you get to fish with your son now.

So sorry to hear this. I had just traded messages with Tom a couple of weeks ago about his jig fishing article. My deepest condolences to his friends and family.

Thank you Tom for putting up with silly questions from some rando on the other side of the globe.

This is so shocking. Wow. RIP Tom. Perhaps nobody on this forum has as much bass knowledge as Tom. Rest in Peace, WRB, and thank you for all of the knowledge you have bestowed upon me over the last 15 years.

I am so very sorry to hear this.
I had to read it twice.

A part of his legacy is the knowledge he gave us all.

What a sad shock, great guy with so much experience and knowledge. I learned a lot from him.

Here’s to wishing WRB 3.0 a great run in the bass factory in heaven. He’ll catch the first 30 pounder I’m sure.

This loss leaves a sharply sad physical void, transforming once-vibrant shared history, inside jokes, and daily routines into heavy reminders of a future that will no longer exist as planned. Our relationship with Tom here transcended the physical, as the knowledge, experience, and memories he shared became an enduring, and even  spiritual part of the very roots and foundation of the Bass Resources Forum identity. He will be missed and never replaced.

Rest in peace sir.
