Get some heavyweight white paper to practice on before starting on a bait. This will help figuring out air pressure, distance from object, etc. You can make your own stencils.

Early spring i nose hook shad shape worms, after that i t rig with a size 1 or 1/0 depending on length of worm (usually chompers). Sometimes a hellgramite, craw, tube, paddletail, or leech gets added to the mix. 7" ml, 15# braid, swivel, and 8# mono to 1/8oz. pencil weight. It would work for anyone. Including Gim...☺️

A few years back i had to get a relay for my 50 evinrude. Less than $30 for the relay and 1 minute install.

It can be very addicting. I use a cheap ($30) airbrush from amazon that works jjust as well as the badger that i paid over $100 for 25 years ago. As far as pressure goes, i usually spray around 30 psi, but it varies. I also use Createx paint mostly, but any craft acrylic paint will work if thinned properly. I used old baits that i didn't like the color, or new baits that were cheap to start with. I have had good results with many styles of knock-off blanks that are available these days. i wish that i started 50 years ago.

That's why i quit playing (forgetting to look if they are fishing) , and that i don't know so many of the anglers.

If he is catching with something you don't have, odds are great that he (or she) will have some extras to share. Start the day fishing something different than what the boater is using. Different depth, speed,and type of lure to help with figuring out what is currently working. Have fun , don't complain (i know you wouldn't) and help out with anything you can.

When you get invited, ask him what to bring. 3 rods, 1- 370 full of hard baits, jigs, and spinnerbaits, a small terminal box, and 2 - qt. bags of soft plastics is what i do. See if he has a cooler that you can add to. He will have tools so you don't need to bring any. Gas money, breakfast, or lunch on you. Have fun.

Chartreuse, pink, and white soft and hard baits work for lm & sm in the clear waters i fish. I start "wild" and if it doesn't work, i go more natural.

Waterrmelon/white laminate is my #1. I tend to fish more light colors - variations of white and light blue with black flake . I have darker, but never seemedto work for me. Red flake scares my fish lol.
