Neighborhood karen !

So , to start with, we are THAT family.

You know, the one with all the trucks, boats , campers, and assorted broken down things being worked on in the yard. We are not in a neighborhood association. I have 3 generations living at my house for a total of 8 people. We have a total of 6 vehicles. We have just enough room to keep them on pavement. Lately , we had a broke down truck and car sitting on the road out front.

Enter the Karen. I call her the queen of the neighborhood. I can see her house from mine. We have had mostly good interactions through the years until the vehicle issues. She starts calling and texting me, wanting to know about when we are going to do something about the vehicles. I politely told her we’d take care of it asap, and we did. Got the truck up on the driveway, and had the car towed to the junkyard. ( a whole other story is how the car was wrecked ). So I think it’s over.

Today , a relative parked his suv on the side of the road with 1 foot hanging off in the road and gets a ticket !! No warning , I’m pretty sure she called the police, because it’s the first ticket I’ve ever heard of on a street like ours. It wasn’t blocking traffic, and has a tag and runs fine.

I’m speaking to a lawyer about it tomorrow.

What would yall do? I’m considering asking her if she had anything to do with it.

Sorry for the long story, but people need to mind their own business !!😡

Pay the ticket and move on.

I second the paying the ticket and moving forward. Not worth engaging. People like that want the drama.

My relative has no extra money to pay the ticket. Now this.

I checked, and it’s not against the law to park like that as long as your car runs, moves every 24 hours at least, and it must have a tag.

Maybe the lawyer will be able to help. He’s a friend.

Pay it and move forward. If you had a cordial relationship with her in the past, try to move back toward that. Invite her over for some iced tea and have a cordial chat, ask her if the vehicles really bother her that much and ask her to text you beforehand and you'll resolve it.

If your family member was wrongfully cited, they should try and get it dismissed. If they can’t, it is probably good advice to just pay it and go on with your life. Life is too short.

A lawyer is going to cost a lot more than the ticket. If a law wasn’t actually broken, fight the ticket in court. You shouldn’t need a lawyer to do that.

That’s essentially what I’ve done already. I just think she called the cops about it . Someone did.

What’s wrong is that another neighbor parks her car on the road and nobody bothers her about it.

I can get sdvice from the lawyer for free- he helped me once before with a speeding ticket .

I agree.

Y’all have talked me off the ledge about the karen.

I just mind my own business and expect others to do the same. When they don’t, it is really annoying.
