My weekend Heck

Featured Replies

Hello,

Still fairly new around here but let me give yuns a slice of my world lately.  I took the boat up to the susky and doing something that was not very intelligent by most, but forgive my I am new.  I know I only need 14 inches of water to float and be safe and on plane 6-8inches of water, well I totally forgot about the stern squatting when the throttles are opened and dug the intake of my jet into the bottom.  Then the tell-tale was just a dribble.  So thinking I should def. get to the bottom this, I decided to pay the $200+ get a new pump kit, thermostat and gaskets.  Well to make a long story short, many broken bolts, lots of Kroil and god knows how many curse words I have the housing off.  Needless to say,  if you haven't had a jet apart do it soon otherwise risk my mess.   I know most people here are way better at preventive maintenance.  I bought mine used and def wasn't apart since 1993 when it was new.
