A couple of weeks back I stumbled across a review of a YGK line (OhDragon SS140) that had four Dyneema carriers wrapped around one fluorocarbon.  The gist of the review claimed this line was a "sinking" braid.  I found myself not caring at all about whether the line would sink or float, but would this line by benefit of the fluorocarbon core have better slack line sensitivity than a traditional braid but still maintain much of the suppleness and strength of a traditional braid?  Explain to me why I'm probably wrong...

I’d like to get some to try out- interesting concept. I used Sunline Castaway (braid/mono line) for inshore fishing on spinning setups and it did wonderfully this past fall. 
 

I haven't tried the SS140, but from its description, my initial guess would be 'yes' since fluorocarbon makes up it's core. In theory, I would think the fluoro core would provide more tension on the line via mass vs braid alone, as well as the density that might play into increased sensitivity either through a more direct route to the lure via sinking or increased vibration transmission (density)...or a combination of both. 

 

I have been using the SS112 for several months now, and it is pretty impressive line. It would be interesting to pick up a spool of the SS140 to compare to the SS112 now that I have a pretty good feel for the line. I'm guessing there are distinct qualities to each line that aren't necessarily shared between the two due to construction differences.

This is the first I’ve heard of it, one of the first actually new (non-gimmick) developments in line for some time. An even more sensitive “braided” line sounds pretty awesome, albeit at a steep price, but line is to dang important to skimp on.  Now I’m gonna probably have to spend the $$ to try some this year-I blame y’all for my empty wallet ?
