I'm planning on getting a new reel and I was wondering if anyone has experience or better yet, a good comparison of these two reels. I will be using lures from 1/8 to 3/8oz a majority of the time and I hear the Curado K isn't too friendly to light baits.

I have a Curado K  but not the Scorpion MGL so I can,t compare but I don't use the K for a 1/8 oz. bait. I use a Scorpion 71  for !/8, 3/16, & some 1/4 oz. depending style of bait. The K for a little heavier  baits.

Scorpion MGL for sure. I had that reel and it cast 1/4oz baits "too far". I had a few Ks as well and they never impressed me one bit.

I have both, I would take the MGL all day everyday over the K.
