Has anyone done this? Or is the jon to light or would I just be better off using 2 anchors(one at each end)? Don't have a jon yet just jetting things sorted out in my mind before I get one.

    Have you priced the Power Poles?  You'll spend more on that than you will on the boat.

    A better alternative is to us a Cajun Anchor; I would not suggest buying one since they can be made quite simply. Check out this site for what they look like & then I can give you tips on how to build your own.
