Phenix blanks at Get Bit

Featured Replies

So I just spent much of today reading old forum posts, trying to get some info on Phenix blanks. I gathered that they are a quality product with some interesting options. Slightly under powered (note line and lure rating) and maybe slightly over priced (this seemed debatable).

My question is on the Get Bit website when you read the description on Phenix blanks the description says it comes with guides, tip top, handle and reel seat. I know Phenix actually builds completed rods. Question- When you order a Phenix blank from Get Bit do you get just a blank or do you get the rest of the components?

You were looking at a kit. You can buy just the blank. I consider the K2 a high end blank and have built some nice rods on them. Since they are a rod company they need to protect their rod prices when they price blanks muck like St Croix did. Bottom line is nice blanks but higher price than some comparable.

Thank you. That is what Carl said at Get Bit but he forgot to ship my rod dryer 3 times. Not sure if he is a source of reliable info. My guess it was some form of cut and paste from the Phenix site. This is not individual descriptions of rods. This is the description given at the header of each model name.

Not important, because I think I will just go with the Rainshadow Revelation REVC68H-SB. 3/8- 1 1/4 oz. is right where I want to be and 6'8"  should be short enough. As far as a short handle goes, I thought about it and I think I want the leverage of a more traditional sized handle.

The traditional size rear grip for that blank is 8 inches from the back of the reelseat, a size 13.5 ID reel seat if I remember right.

Hi Kevin from Get Bit here, please let me know if we can help. We don't monitor forums as much as we would like but feel free to call us any time. 407-542-7840
