Hair Jig and Ned Head high end Rod...

Featured Replies

I fish 90% st Croix rods. ltb's mostly. st.croix tends to fish a little heavy go with the medium light I think youll find it perfect. I fish the same rod that bluebasser does.

I just recently picked up a Destroyer Flyssa. I've never fished hair jigs out here in California but from reviews, seems like it would be great for that. Could also work great for lighter ned rigs. I plan to throw either small 2.8 size Keitechs or crappie jigs on mine. I threw on a Stradic ci4 3000 with 5lb line.

My current rod I use for neds is an Expride 7' medium. It's light, fairly sensitive, and has a great back bone and fast tip. I just ordered an Orochi Enforcer that'll probably be my main ned rig rod. We'll see

how that goes. Just going to throw my Ultegra 2500 on to it.

I might end up going with that rod!  Although, I keep hearing that GLX and NRX from G Loomis are more sensitive than anything that St. Croix has to offer (except maybe the new legend xtreme).  If the Loomis rods are out of my range, I will probably go the the 6'10" MLXF !  preferably the Elite

ive fished loomis great rods no doubt but I have to say I feel you get more value for your money with st.croix  than any rod out there. just my opinion for whatever that's worth.

I'm a self proclaimed St. Croix fan boy and still own quite a few of their rods and they are used everytime I go out.

But, at the same time after buying an NRX it's on an entirely different level than any St. Croix rod I've ever fished or owned. YMMV

Thanks very much for your feedback.  St. Croix is probably more bang for your buck, but that extra sensitivity of an NRX is making me lean 872s JWR
