I'm no expert on boat prices, but $200 for a new boat might be quite a challenge. If you're willing to consider used, who knows, a decent john boat might be available at that price.

On a 200$ budget I suggest you rethink your thoughs of only setteling for a new boat and trolling motor

I would starting looking in front and back yards and on the side of people's houses (From the street of course) and see if you can find you a Jon boat that you can fish out till you can restore/build it as you see fit.

Also Craiglist has been good for boats.  But keep your eyes open and you will find what you seek, or at least find something that you can enjoy as you fish.

Remember, the fish can't tell if you are fishing out of a showroom ready $80,000 water rocket or a $150.00 fixer upper from some old guys back yard.

The $200 will make a nice down payment on a nice $600 - 1000 new aluminum small boat with trolling motor.

Let's get real.  It's going to be a challenge to find an old, used aluminum boat with a trolling motor for $200.

I was looking for something more along the lines of a reliable inflatable boat. I am a little young to own a full size boat and my family owns only honda suvs and mini vans. But thanks for the suggestions. Also the 200$ does not include the trolling motor just a boat that can hold one.

just remember....95% of the time you can get a better deal buying a used anything if you are willing to do your homework and shop around.....

Which Honda SUV ?

I owned a CRV and I cartoped my 12 ft jon on it, I had a blacksmith make me 2 bases I screwed to where you screw the luggage basket.

One 2007 CRV and one 2005 CRV. But like I said, the largest thing I could probably buy would be one of the bass pontoon boats. I also stated that my parents don't want anything bigger than that.

I would suggest saving a bit more money and picking up a small kayak. You can carry them on any car, and they'll get into places that even jonboats can't go.

Yea but I probably wont be able to get a trolling motor on it.

True, but you could also put in anywhere. No boat ramp necessary and no registration fees. ;)

I will look into it. It is deffinatly a possibility. Any other suggestions?
