my bass boat's warning horn

Featured Replies

I just re-powered my bass boat (that I bought this past fall and haven't been able to run yet!) from an '82 Evinrude 115hp, to a '90 Evinrude 90hp VRO. She runs great and I'm really excited to get her in the water as soon as possible, but I have a problem. Apparently, the overheat horn in my controls is not compatible with the new motor, so I get a constant annoying horn sound as soon as you turn the key. Any advice out there on where to find the right one?

Are you sure it's not compatible as opposed to the sensor is stuck/broken/wired wrong?  Is your battery charged?  My warning horn will go constantly if the ignition is turned on when the battery is almost dead.
