New Motorguide trolling motor--would like some input!

Featured Replies

Well due to getting a gift card recently for BPS, I was thinking about selling the TM I have now and buying a brand spanking new one for this season and I wanted to know if anyone has seen or purchased one of these new MotorGuide Varimax trolling motors and if anyone has a review on it. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10200461_225001001_225000000_225001000_225-1-1?ordProd=Y&CMID=TOP_selectitems#itemDetail

The only thing I don't like is not having the telescopic handle like the minn kotas but I can deal with that. The feature that stands out to me is on my jon boat I use trolling motors both trandsom and bow mounted depending on what lake I'm fishing and the new Varimax has the feature of easily rotating the head for both type of mounts and I just wanted to know if anyone has used this feature and how easy it is.

Any info would be great! ;D

I have an Endura 50 thats 5 years old and has been good to me aside from the one time it caught on fire from being on high for too long.  The wires inside got too hot and melted and lots of smoke came pouring out.

I rewired it and its been fine ever since.  Believe it or not I still trust it.
