Fishing Weed Line
I would fish a spinnerbait or chatterbait ticking the tips over the top, jig the center, and crank the outside edge at all depths. senkos are great too at the edges.

Motorguide Brute 67
Hello, I have a 24v bow mount with a broken circuit board. They no longer make the part but have another part for it thats $300. I am wondering if anyone has an old trolling motor like mine laying around for parts, or knows someone who may have the used part I need. Thanks for your help. Jim from CT

24V Battery Question
Thanks friends. That answers my question. I can rearrange some hoses and put in 2 big ones or just put in 2 small ones. I know with 2 big batteries I can get 2 days of fishing hard with a 65lb thrust. One more question too. Can any 24v Trolling motor be run on 12v for a day here and there? I know it will run slower and get drained faster but it it bad for the motor?

24V Battery Question
Not sure if its a dumb question but can a small deep cycle be combined with a larger one in a 24 v system. Its a matter of space in my 16' aluminum. I don't have the room for 2 large batteries.

Champion Bass Boat Carpet
Does anyone know if any company makes precut carpet kits for an 18' 1988 duel console bass boat? I found 1 compnay that has kits for Champions but not 1988. It would just save me alot of time than cutting it myself. Thanks, Jim

20' Cajun Bass Boat
The boat doesn't have a gas motor currently and would stay in the water all summer tied to a dock. I hear what you are saying though about a day to remove it.

20' Cajun Bass Boat
thanks. what I mean by how it rides is would the back be higher than the front without a 400lb motor to balance it. Also would it get blown around without a lower unit in the water. For the seats, can't I just do 2 comfy captain seats that aren't Cajun?

20' Cajun Bass Boat
I have a few questions I'd like to ask. For a 1992, Is it true that these boats have no wood under the fiberglass? If a boat had the gas motor removed for an electric only lake, would it ride terrible with just the trolling motor used or would it need balast in the back? Thirdly, where can I find new bench seats that fit it? Thanks in advance. Jim

Minn Kota parts
I have a 65 Minn Kota Maxxum. The variable speed switch is broken so it only goes 1 speed. Minn Kota said its hard wired so I have to by the whole board for $200. I cut out the broken switch and want to replace it. It looks like a $5 part but I can't find one that's suitable. I went to an auto part store and a hardware store and Radio Shack. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks If a picture would help, let me know

braid line
15lb power pro no leader on my 2 smallmouth spinning rods. bites all day. senkos and small jigs. water is pretty clear--like 4 or 5 ft. sometimes I use a black permanant marker to darken the line near the tip but not always.

How Shallow is Too Shallow?
I've seen them lay under leaves blown toward shore a foot wide in 4" of water in the fall. Lots of bass. Must be the warm cover since the leaves are brown.

is this a smelt?
thanks guys! and yes its a 4lb brown trout that came from a stream about 10' wide in my avi.

is this a smelt?
Its a new species (to us) my friend discovered at a local lake while ice fishing. The lake is 500 acres and 60' deep. Is it a stupid question to ask if it could be a main forage for bass? Thanks.

Champlain Guide
My family is going to Burlington, VT for a long weekend at Lake Champlain in July and we want to do a guided fishing trip. I am asking for your help to determine some options. It will be 2 adults and 2- 15 yr olds. I doesn't have to be bass but some species that is readily available (although bass is where my heart lies). Is there a pontoon boat guide for bass maybe or trolling for trout and salmon? Thanks

Any luck in CT yet?
Mcdonough tough? you are probably fishing too shallow. Dropshot or small black jigs in 15' or more on points and humps. The water there has 12' visibility so fish stay away from shore.

What does a bass bed look like?
When the water temp is around 60 degrees, put on some good polarized sunglasses and scan the shallow water on a calm sunny day. mornings are usually calmer. Then you'll see em.

Coton Cordell Super Spot?
on a recent BassPros episode, they said that the spot can be fished slower than other rattlebaits because its slower fall.

All CT fishermen!
where you from Bass Grant? There are some small lakes around that are too small for tourneys but have good fishing if you're local to them. That is before they weed over. I'm from Ellington

Bass Clubs in ct??
there are a bunch of good ones that fish the whole state. pick one that has meetings near you. mine is www.tvba.org some are BASS, some are FLW and some are non affiliated clubs. call the president of each club and see if you can attend a meeting and fish an event to see how it works and meet the members before you join. our club is $60 I think and $30 per event--10 events 7 count for points so you can miss 3 and still qualify. We are a club of 20 members. about 5 are nonboaters.
