I just ordered three skeet reese rods 1) 7' crank bait rod 2) 6' 8" topwater/jerk bait rod 3) 8' flippin' pitchin' rod mainly i was wonder what reel ratio would go best with each rod..i know certain reel ratios work best with each technique you are using im just not possitive which gear ratio works best for what any help would be nice! My friends and i are renting out a cottage out in Grand Isle VT on lake champlain...we are going to be doing some fishing and we are going this saturday! I was wondering what baits/techniques have been working lately..i know its probably different than here in ct but what are the bass in pre spawn still, spawn or post spawn?! any help would be awesome..we are just looking to catch some nice fish!

Me and three buddies are planing on taking a boys week fishing trip to Champlain in early to mid june..we are going to be in Grand Isle VT and what i was wondering is what you all think about the fishing..we want to fish for bass obviously haha but i was wondering what would be the right techniques and baits to be using..should we be fishing shore line? docks? drop offs? id appreciate any advise! thanks a bunch!!

i was thinking about going up and tryign to fish this lake this weekend bc i have heard it is good for largemouth..has anyone had good lukc here? what works best lure wise?
