Fishing after heavy rains

Featured Replies

I am fishing in my first tournament next weekend.  The ramp we are using is mid-lake.  I can run about 30 miles up, or about 30 miles down to the dam.

The area is supposed to get strong storms this weekend with as much as 4-5" rain.

The lake doesn't rise and fall much - maybe about a foot after these types of rains.

Water temp right now is averaging 65 at mid lake.

Does anyone have any suggestions for which part of the lake (upper, mid, lower) I might need to focus on?  Will the upper end clear up first?

The rains should be finished on Monday, and the tournament is on Saturday.  The lake off limits until Saturday.

If you have the time to do it, it might be worth just running around and looking for the first 30 minutes. I've certainly missed checks for not doing that...
