Fluoro: improved clinch knot or palomar??

Featured Replies

Always have on every type of line. I only have braid on the frog rod, but it has always been a no fail knot.  It may be over kill, but I have always used 5 wraps before wetting and cinching down on every line.

I use the palomar knot for everything. Every lure, every line with the exception of the FG knot for braid to fluoro. I can’t honestly say that in 25 years I have only had the palomar fail maybe twice, maybe.

Palomar for all line types ?

Palomar is great, but my vision on the water with clear line can be tough and I've lost fish because I screwed up the knot because I didn't look close enough to the loop.  I'm guessing I'm not the only one here who swears by the palomar but has lost a few due to operator error.
