Jackhammer blade paint chipping off

Featured Replies

I've been hoarding my jackhammers like TP lately, as the colors I'm using most are very hard to find. I haven't gone swimming for one, but I've worked pretty hard to keep them, so I'm noticing an issue as I get more time before I lose one. The Red/GP one has a black blade, or does when it comes out of the package. The one I have tied on now is a train wreck - blade is mostly silver now. Looks like enamel over un-prepped or un-sanded blade.

Is this just the way it is, or is this one defective? I suppose I'll just hit it with some rustoleum if they always do it.

Just the way it is. I touch mine up with a sharpie

My jackhammer paint seems to be holding up, but it’s acting weird now. When reeling it in, all of a sudden it will stop vibrating and kind of roll in a circle then start vibrating running true again. Not sure what’s happening with it but it was fine the first few times I fished it.

Does this happen on a slower retrieve or mostly on one that's faster ?  If it's the latter, the easy fix is to slow down.

Also, does your choice of trailer seem to influence the bait rolling over at all ?

It happens on a steady retrieve, I haven’t changed the speed Since it was working fine, also haven’t changed the trailer. It just started happening out of nowhere, i am going to try and change the trailer I guess and see what happens.
