I pitch a lot from my kayak but never flip.  I use anything from 7' to 7'4" but that has zero to do with me being in a kayak.  I haven' had any issue with a rod because I am in a kayak and i fish everything from my shortest rod which is 6'6" to fly rods that are 9'.

Yup, I don't think I will either. I spent this weekend learning to horizontally pitch, which I never really was very good at before but now I'm getting the hang of it -- and I can stand and pitch normally too. I actually picked today's fishing spot because it's an area that we can stand and pitch between the weeds. My youngest picked a dead weed that was floating in a U shape about 4 inches across and 30 feet in front of him and his first target he hit it dead center and low entry.

I definitely pitch more than I flip too. My flipping is so bad from not flipping since last year that I was able to pitch faster.

I own both brands..Being the Irod is a tad more spendy, I buy them when I have the extra $$$..

The Fiber series uses the same blank for $100. The guides aren't as nice, but I've had no issue with them. I use the 7' heavy for pitchin stuff 3/8 and under. It's got a great tip on it.
