Cranking Rod

Featured Replies

My question is as follows: What do y’all use or think is a good size rod for a 6:3:1 baitcaster reel with the intent to use crankbaits on it such as the DT-6 and DT-10? I have heard a 7’ to 7’ 2” power: medium and action:moderate is a good rod for crankbait fishing. What are your thoughts or personal setups?

That's right on target far as I'm concerned. My cranking rod is a Dobyns Fury 705CB - 7'0" Medium-Heavy/Moderate with a Diawa Fuego CT-H (6.3:1) reel.
