Repowering Question, Estimated Hours of Labor?

Featured Replies

I am looking for an estimate as to how many hours to expect for labor when repowering from a 25hp 4-stroke to a 50hp 2-stroke engine.  There is a boat I am going to put an offer in on that the dealer I am purchasing from did this on after the trade.  They are now selling it with the 50hp.  I am trying to figure out an estimate on what is cost them to do this was so I can come up with what I think is a fair offer.

Thanks

Since you did not ask for the boat to be re-power from a 25 4s to 50 2s. I would only change my offer based on the cost difference in the two motors. The re-power was something they did not something that you requested.

Then again I'm cheap, and refuse to pay for changes someone makes to an item on their behalf!

Just my 2 cents.

If it is the same brand and all they had to do was unbolt, take the steering and electric stuff off and put on the other motor 2-3 hours should get it.
