Solo loading with a roller trailer

Featured Replies

So the boat I currently have is a roller trailer. All my previous bot launching experience has been with bunk trailers, and I’m completely comfortable solo loading with a bunk. I haven’t yet taken this boat out by myself and am planning on it this weekend. Launching isn’t going to be hard at all, but I am not as sure about loading. With a bunk I’d just drive the boat up to the point where it is supposed to be and it would sit pretty close, then crank if I needed it a bit farther. With it being a roller I won’t really be able to do it that way. You guys have any advice? Not sure if I just put the trailer in the water farther than usual so I can get the bow closer to the front to hook it up, or if there is some other way that is easier. Some advice would be appreciated, I’m probably just overthinking it but I’d rather be somewhat prepared before I do it instead of fumbling around like an idiot.

You need one of these.

Never seen one of those but if it actually works like it’s supposed to in that add then that would be pretty nice

Just be careful to ease up onto the front roller guide so you don't bend the locking pin latch.
