looking for a new boat

Featured Replies

i currently have a 14ft smokercraft big fisherman, i built a front casting deck for it, going back 30yrs when i had a bass tracker II it was a pleasure to fish off the nice wide casting deck, so i thought i would be happy with this v bottom 14ft big fisherman, it's ok, but not what i really would like, so it brings me to ask around for opinions and suggestions on my next boat that has a nice big and wide casting deck, i am towing with a new subaru outback so weight is sort of a factor, looking for either a 15 or 16ft modified v hull, flat floor tiller model is preferred. so if anyone has been down this road and has a boat that is a good quality, and happy with, looking for some input. i see the newer boats are all welded construction. any pros and cons on them.

thanks

get a 1448T Lowe or Alumacraft and build a deck for it, They are well made boats and will be stabler than our smoker crafts. Add a trolling motor, outboard and graph, you're set for around you. I also was in you're spot a few weeks ago. I was leaning towards that, then decided on an 186o all weld, with intentions of building a deck down the road. I ultimately decided on buying a 19' triton aluminum

Check out a 1448 Tracker Grizzly, all welded, mod V hull, comes with casting deck, a good platform for modifying too, with good thick aluminum, feels solid not flimsy. Go with max hp (I think it's 25 hp) as the boat feels a little sluggish with less.
