Found this trailer for $150, it got a couple of problem so I'm wondering if it is worth the price.

It is a year 2000 Load Rite for watercraft but wide enough for my 12' jon.  It got broken left light and left wheel missing a stem valve however the tire look good.  Is it okay for the grease to come out of the axle?  Both wheels spin free without any roughness.  

Does the trailer worth $150 with these problems?

How much will it cost to fix these problems?

I'm never own a trailer before so don't know anything about it.  Now, I need to find a trailer hitch for my 2005 Odysseys.  Do you know if any good place for this?

Looks like it is galvanized which is a plus.  Axle has lost cap, replace with bearing buddies, also replace bearings and seals.  Replace broken light.  Check tires for cracks, if cracked replace.  Check axle to see if bent.  Get a spare tire. Can you do the repair work?  If axle  and tires are OK you can probably get by for less than $100.00, excluding spare, if you do most of the work.

I can take care of light and tire, but not too sure about the bearing buddies and stuff. Do you have a picture that show how these stuff go together or a schematic for the axle?

assuming all that has been said is true I would say its a good deal.  As they said I would replace with bearing buddies.  You should be able to find used parts readily to replace anything thats too bad without much cost.

You sure couldn't build that trailer new for $150.  The tires don't look good.  My suggestion?  Check Walmart, they've got new tires and wheels that size for around $50-60 apiece.  Buddy bearings, Walmart.  Light, Walmart.

Invest around $200 and you've got a trailer that will last you a long time.

Something you can also do if the trailer tires are pricey is to price a very basic set of car tires in a similar size.  Many times trailer tires are more expensive than car tires due to their load capacities.  Since all your hauling around is a 12' john boat you wouldn't have any load issue what so ever with car tires.  Heck you might be able to find a reasonably used set of those as well.

Hey Cart7t, are you talking about an additional $200 or $50?

What I'm thinking of doing now is as follow:

-grease and grease gun

-bearing buddies ( look simple enough )

-Valve stem (should I bring this to a auto shop?)

-light ( can do )

-fix a flat for just in case. ( load will be light -200lbs max )

Good idea! I will check the regular tire store if I will to replace the tire.
