Neko Rigged Straight Tail Trick Worms ?

Featured Replies

I have not utilized the Neko Rig much except for using with some Z-Man Finesse straight tail worms . While  I see a few specialized straight tail worms employed for the Neko Rig , I have enough Zoom Trick worms in every color imaginable which I would like to employ with the Neko Rig - anybody use or tried Zoom Trick worms with the Neko Rig and had success  ?

I’ve had some success along with 6” roboworm but still like Zman either Finesse worm on ZinkerZ better. For Zoom trick worm I found that if I clip the air tail part I got more bites, imho.

I have used trick worms with a nail inserted and o ring about 1/3 from the head of the worm. Seems to work well around areas with less weeds.

Nail isn't spelled Neko:ph34r:

Cut a 1/4" off the nose worm end so it's flat.

Insert a 3/32 nail weight straight up the flat nose worm end.

Use a size 1/0 weedless wacky hook wacky rigged about 1 1/2" up from the worm nose end.

Usiing 5 lb to 8lb FC line cast and let the worm sink like a Senko watch the line for strikes. Hop or shake the worm after it hits the bottom similar to a shaky head jig/worm.

PS, the nail rig is at least 40 years old, now renamed Neko.
