Added the radio to the boat

Featured Replies

This year I put the radio and some Rod holders on the boat. It not a deck boat but I have done some great fishing off it.

Added a fish finder to.. Still looking for a cheap trolling motor lol like the rest of us lol

Looks great, how hard was it to wire the radio in? did it require any circuit breakers or such?

As for the trolling motor keep an eye on your local craigslist, I just got a 55# Motorguide bow mount for $90, only used a handful of times and stored for a few years, works great.

Wiring was easy. Finding routes to run the wire took a few but after we had it planned it all went quick.  Cutting the holes for the speakers sucked cause I hate fiberglass.

The radio came with a in line fuse but I did replace the fuse with a breaker. Not to fun to be out on the water and cant find a fuse lol

I have been looking on craislist found some good trans. mount trolling motors but need a bow mount for this kind of boat.

Looks nice.  It's fun having tunes on the water.  Some don't like it, but fishing with your buds, non tournament, its's AWESOME!

Congrats.

Hey this is a stupid question im sure but how do you run a sterio with out an alternator? Do you have a battery just for the radio and if so how long does it normaly last? (Guess you cant answer if ya just put it in) Just wondering if it would be worht adding to my lil shakesphere boat.

Been using a Dewalt battery operated boombox. Its pretty nice but having a deck and speakers would save room.

Thanks guys and again sorry to barge in on your topic.

A radio doesnt use alot of power. Just like in a car you can run it for a couple hours. I have a battery charger/maintainer I put on to keep it charged. I put it on when I get home not all the time just when needed.

When I get my trolling motor I will have a second battery cause they use up alot of power. Dont want to be stuck on the lake cause I used the trolling motor to much  :)
