Need help with my trolling motor setup thank you!

Featured Replies

I could see on somes forums people talk about AWG / GAUGE i need help to choose the "RIGHT" wire for my battery to circuit breaker (The wire number 4) it will be a realy short wire (something like 3~5inchs) so what is the AWG / GAUGE I need for that realy short wire?
And is all the component I bought good and compatible with each other?
I will use the battery lugs on the battery side too (those are included with my circuit breaker)

Since you are already using #4 wire I would stick with that. You notice that the chart in the manual shows heavier wire for longer runs and while you don't want to choke the system right at the start unless you are pushing the 20 ft limit there is no need to go heavier. Make sure that your connections are good and tight and the wires are run so they are out of the way and won't be damaged. After that go enjoy some fishing.

Edit: actually I made an assumption on the length of wire that you need, use the chart to determine the proper guage wire, they are assuming that you are going to use a fuse/circuit breaker and connectors.

Thank you and all the component i bought for the setup is good right?

Looks good to me, as I said make your joints tight, a poor crimp is like using a wire that's too small.Since
