Hey all...

I start out by saying I think I know the answer but......

The skimmer transducer on my trolling motor snapped at the bracket. I have another on order. In the mean time, what is the best way to set the skimmer up with minimum interference??? I believe that a metal O ring around the ducer will interfer, but I don't know about say electrical tape or a rubber bungee.

For some reason, certain motors have more interference than others but for starters, I would do the following:

- Put a 1" or so wide strip of rubber all the way around the lower unit of the TM in between the metal strap and the motor.

- Make sure your trolling motor batteries do not have anything else connected to them (fishfinders, bilge pumps, etc)

If you're still having trouble, set the noise rejection up from none or low to medium on your fishfinder (eagle,lowrance).  Depends on the humminbird model ff, some you may not have this option.  

I have an eagle 480 setup on a minn kota 65 lb with no problems.  Good luck.
