Need Your Help with a new rod

Featured Replies

I am in the market for a rod. I want to throw jigs on it like texas rigs, pitching/swimming/finesse etc. jigs as well. I picked out a reel and have a daiwa tatula 100ct. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a rod preferably under 150. Preferably 2 piece as well. I was looking at the st croix mojo bass 7'1 medium rod  but wasn't sure if that was a good one to go with. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Not a 2 piece but the daiwa Tatula elite Brent Ehaler 7’3 mh is a awesome rod. And you should be able to get it for about 150 if you shop around.  Or if you want to save a little money the regular tatula rods are awesome as well I personally have both.

13 Fishing has 2 piece Omen 3's in med. and med. heavy for 130.00. Really nice rods. BTW, welcome from a fellow hoosier.

One to look at would be the Daiwa Ardito Trigger rod. They are three piece (and come with a nice soft travel case), but are designed so that the rod still bends at the joints. I haven't fished one, but have held one. The action seemed to not be too affected by the joints and it seemed like it would fish well.

One thing I have found is that I think you should make the effort to handle any rod you're considering buying for that amount of money if possible. There are some things that can't be known or get overlooked, and without handling them and inspecting them, you won't realize there is something that could be a deal breaker once you have the rod in your hands.
