So I have recently picked up a Steez 7' ML AGS spinning rod and really like the action of the stick.  I am not sure I have noticed any greater sensitivity with the AGS guides or not, but the rod is incredibly light, and I have enjoyed fishing it very much.  Great finesse stick for drop shot, spy bait and NED rigs.

 

So I have turned my attention to a longer stick and I recently ordered a Tatula Elite AGS 7'6" Seth F rod, as I wanted to see if the AGS phenomenon would carry forward in this stick.  I haven't put my hands on it yet, should be here next week, but at the same time I have an opportunity to put my hands on a Steez 7'6" MML (at almost twice the money) and I am wondering if there is a REAL discernable difference between the two that would justify the investment of the Steez over the Elite AGS??  

 

Anyone with experience with both that can provide candid feedback on whether they could feel/notice a discernable difference in the sensitivity between the two rods?

I do not own the Steez.

Do have & fish a couple of AGS.

The 7'1" M Ehrler drop shot and that 7'6" ML Feider Neko Rig/hair jig stick.

I like them both quite a bit, mostly for what they were designed to do. 

 

The 7'6" stick has accounted for some great fish for me

In general, the differences become much more marginal at higher price points. I don’t have experience with the Steez stick but I’m sure there is some improvement but Dollar-for-Dollar it’s not going to blow away a $279 AGS Tatula Elite.

That is my lean as well.  In fact, holding the two rods (7'6" steez and the 7'6" AGS), I think the Elite AGS has a better overall feel.   And I know it casts hair jigs and ned rigs a MILE...   I am wondering if the Steez hysteria is greatly overstated and driven by marketing hype versus actual on the water fishing experience/results...

A-Jay, do you have any experience with the Cody Meyer AGS rod??

People who will write six paragraphs waxing poetic about fishing rods have been loving on the 7'6" MML since it was released.  To be fair, people who are predisposed to get excited about tackle getting excited about tackle isn't super surprising, but if you want to see what the big deal is, that should be a very good rod ro be able to try out.

I have the Steez now and as I have posted, the side by side comparison really doesn't give you the justification on the extra $$ to upgrade from the Tat Elite AGS to the Steez Unicorn...    At least in my humble opinion.  In fact, the more I handle the Tat Elite AGS line, the most I am starting to like its technique specific options...
