BPS Carbonlite 2.0 Casting Reel Lure weight

Featured Replies

Hi All....

I have a BPS Carbonlite 2.0 baitcaster and was wondering if anyone knows or has experience with the minimum weight lure which can be successfully and repeatedly cast with it.

I'm looking to take it off my Carbonlite 2.0 MH rod and put it on something lighter - preferably ML, but want to make sure it can handle 1/8 or 1/4oz lures.  If I can't, I guess I'll look into a new combo.

Thanks!

I have a BPS carbonlite 2.0 on a carbonlite 6’6” medium rod, I can throw a zoom or netbait finesse worm with wide gap hook.

Id say 1/4 is getting near its limits to effectively be able to throw it any distance.  Anything much smaller than that I go to spinning tackle

I was throwing 1/4oz weight with limited range and success yesterday on the MH rod, so I think there is hope.  If not, I'll look into BFS!
