Guide Selection

Featured Replies

So every rod I've built so far has been a kit. I am ready to tackle a swimbait rod (3-8 oz). Looking for recommendations on the correct guides for the heavy application.  Thanks!

If you are using braid with a leader the top guides needs to be able to accommodate the knot. The guide frames should be windless to shread off the line. The closest giude to the reel need to de high and large enough to accommodate the reel size. Other then that the giude train is the same for fresh water bass rods.

Call and talk to Alex at ALX rods. He is the distributor Kagin guides and builds custom rods. Alex started with redfish anglers and knows what to use.
