What is the best spot to fish for crappie in a pond

Featured Replies

Hello Folks,

My family has a lake/pond on their property that is stocked with Bass, Bluegill, Tilapia, Crappie and Catfish. I have tried fishing for crappie a couple times but haven’t had any luck. I don’t really know what spots to fish, one side of the lake is deep and dammed off and the other end has brush piles, and submerged trees and vegetation but is only 3-4 maybe 5 feet deep. And the middle of the lake is deep, around 12+ feet maybe. What would be the best spot for crappie

The shallower brushy end should be great for pre spawn and spawn. Other times of the year crappie relate to structure like bass but tend to suspend above it. They'll be in open water but relating to something on the bottom like a hump or depression. BTW, welcome.
