7’2 MH expride?

Featured Replies

Anyone have a review on the 7’2 mh expride? I’m looking at the regular rod, not the glass rod.

Curious if this rod is a “true” medium heavy or runs a little bit on the heavier side. Also wondered how this rod stacks up against other rods in terms of sensitivity. Thanks in advance.

Its an awesome rod, feels like a true MH rod to me. Great sensitivity in my opinion. I choose the rod over an imx pro, have no regrets at all.

Which baits do you throw on it? Looking for a rod to pitch docks or light cover with, and maybe drag some 3/8-1/2 oz jigs.

Perfect rod for that technique!!! I have 2 of them and love them. I use one for 1/4 oz Texas rigs and the other for 3/8. I use 40 lb braid on both of them. Sometimes with a leader, sometimes straight braid.

Cool appreciate the info. I’m mostly fishing a mix of alx Zolo and enox rods right now. Curious how the expride compares in sensitivity.

I cannot compare them to those brands so I won't pretend like I can tell you the difference. I will say that they seem to be very sensitive to me and I can only compare them to the Crucials, Zodias and Poison Adrena rods. I will say that I had decided I would rather have an Expride as opposed to a Poison Adrena for the cost difference.

To add to that. I have a 7'2 H that I use for 1/2 oz Texas rigs and a 7'3 XH that I use for jigs as most of my jigs come in closer to 3/4 to 1 oz and I throw them in some nasty stuff. I love the Expride line of rods and would recommend them to anyone who is on the fence.
