Loved my smoke s3. I did have to lightly oil the brakes every so often. But it’s good to check over any reel every now and again

Just an FYI. From what I’ve gathered on the new HMG rods, it used the same powerlux 100 blank that Abu used for their Veritas rod uses. The shops I go to for my fishing gear sell the veritas cheaper then the HMG rods so it’s a no brainer for me.

Shimano curators 6’10 ML it’s a super fun rod, I recommend it 100%

Totally the bfs spool, it doesn't work with the 70 mgl side plate though because the bfs I magnetic, the 70mgl is not. But if you've got the spool in the reel and its casting fine, you probably have the side plate as well.

I'd recommend the slx or intenza rods, they are awesome for the money.

Scorpion MGL and curado E.

I loved my ci4+ reels, wish I never sold them, my buddy just got tye mgl this past winter, just a fun little light reel man

Out of curiosity, which bearings on the Curado G need upgrading? I've got a brand new one, still in bubble wrap, and was planning on doing a few little upgrades to it.

I like braid for big baits, just a confidence thing I guess.

I've heard 8-10 lb for braid and 4-6 for fluoro

Just gotta give it a good cleaning. Soak the bearings, remove old grease with fresh grease. Test all the bearings before and after you oil them.

Someone please enlighten me on... Why Daiwa would release a 80 size and 70 size reel at the same time? Why would you buy the 80 when the 70 comes with the SV spool plus a nicer thumb bar for 30 dollars more? I don't follow Daiwa much anymore, so I'm interested in knowing more about these two reels.

Look and feel great. Out of all 300+ tatulas, I'd choose the elite.

I just got the curado bfs and curado ml rod. Probably going to look for a better bfs rod but for the time being, going to try that put.

I've held a few 150 mgl's since its come out, and for someone to put the tournament mp ahead of it boggles my mind! By no means am i bashing your review. Just my opinion as well. Maybe get out on the water, cast it around, get some load on the reel and then I'm sure you'll see how well the reel performs under pressure. That in my opinion I where shimano just out classes all other reel brands.
