Is one better than the other in terms of keeping the fish hooked? Less breakoff?

I have two exact same football jigs, but notice they have different styles of hooks. Anyone know what’s intended usage of the two jig hooks?

It makes a lot of sense while it doesn’t. Maybe I am stupid. how can you have a larger spool diameter with a narrower spool at the same time? Doesn’t a larger spool diameter mean wider spool?

Does a bigger/wider spool cast further than a smaller/narrower spool? 70 size vs 150 size?
