Issues With Extreme Flex In a Tracker Grizzly AW CC

Featured Replies

I am wondering if anybody has heard of someone having any issues with the 2009 TRACKER GRIZZLY AW CC .I bought mine just after the holidays and I have had it in the shop for broken welds in the mid section of the floor on both side. As well as issues with the rivets busting SS as Alum. both .If anybody could tell me if they r having similar problems or the same would be much helpful . All my issues are with the floor and sides of the boat all in the mid section . All my boating is in the ches. bay but i never leave the rivers and go out into the main bay to beat it up . I am very easy on it espc. now i am having issues.

Not a grizzly owner but I do own an AW CC from G3 and was wondering how you even discovered the issues?  Not sure Id know that if it happened.  I would hope not to many other people have had that issue.  Even if you ran it through rough water welds should hold.  Most of the time welds are as strong or stronger than the material being welded.

When i go through a persons wake of oncoming boat traffic. When the boat goes over. You can see the sides of the boat flex sometimes up to 1inch and then when it hits the water after going over the wave the floor smacks but you can here the rivet punch back into to hole it was in .

I'd be expecting the dealer to replace it, not repair it, or getting my money back.

Sounds to me like a problem with the welds.  Too much heat, weakening the hull material, or too little, not enough penetration to make a strong connection.

A welded hull should not depend on riveted parts to maintain structural integrity.  The rivets should just hold parts in place.

The hull should not depend on those parts for stiffness.

That's supposed to be the advantage of a welded hull.
