Best Seasonal Baits

Featured Replies

If you guys - or gals - could only pick 4 lures for each season what would they be. I would like to see some of yalls' responses just to get an idea on what everybody is throwing. If you don't mind, list 2 soft baits and 2 lures for each of the 4 seasons below. Thank you, have a good day, and  tight lines.

My picks:

Winter- Finesse jigs, Big medium-deep diving cranks, Senkos on light t-rigs, and Grubs on jigheads

Spring- Spinnerbaits, Lipless crankbaits, Craws on weighted t-rigs, and Grubs on jigheads

Summer- Square bills, Spinnerbaits, Paddle tail swimbaits on jigheads, and senkos on short drop shots

Fall- Spinnerbaits, Square bills, Flukes on weightless t-rig, and Finesse worms on a light t-rig

Winter..........it's iced over.

Spring-  Jigs, jerkbaits, spinnerbait, underspin, t-rig

Summer- Jigs, squarebills, chatterbaits or swim jigs, swim frogs, wacky rig

Fall-Jigs, jerkbaits, t-rig, crankbaits

Thank you for your response, I like all of those options.

Winter: Jerkbaits, ive had better luck with soft plastic ones than hard lipped jerk baits, lipless, bed, drop shot, jigs

Spring, summer, and fall: chatterbait, t-rig craw, squarebill if I'm around rocks and timber, ned, wacky stick bait, and frog.

I tend to stay around there, although ive bought just about everything under the sun. I'll experiment with things but these are always tied on. I use 2 or 3 setups for experimenting and have dedicated setups for frog, chatterbait, and ned. Each year I try to get better with one new technique or lure. 2020 I didnt really but I tried alot of new things. 2021 is going to be A-Rig and finesse jigs I work on.

I tend to fish the same baits year round.  My top producing baits are jigs, t-rigged plastics, crankbaits, and finesse worms on a split shot rig.

These are not the only baits I fish, but these four have been some of the top producers over the years.
